"Internet sex addict"

Today, I stumbled over a strange and interesting article on cnn.com about a man who is suing his employee because he claims to be an internet addict. This man was recently fired by IBM because he was caught visiting an adult chat room while he was at work. He claims that stress and past tragedies are the reason why he is addicted to visiting adult chat rooms. Therefore, he is now suing IBM for 5 million because he believes that he should recieve treatment and sympathy for his illness, not termination.

His lawyer claims that this employee has never violated any written IBM rules nor has he ever visited any pornographic sites at work. But on the other hand, IBM believes its policy on against using sexual websites at work is made clear to all of their employees. If this case makes it to trial, it may lead to changes in how companies will regulate employees internet use in the future.
